Jobic Le Masson was born in France in 1968 and started his musical education at the age of 7 at the Conservatory. Age sixteen he moved to the US on his own and attended the Greenwich High School in Connecticut where he studied music theory and composition. In 1987 he attended the Berklee School of Music and returned to Paris after graduating in 1990.
Besides his activity as a teacher, Jobic dedicates his time to composing, arranging and performing. He has been part of many projects and recordings with musicians Arnaud Sacase, Gwen Sampé, Benjamin Duboc, Didier Lasserre, Aldridge Hansberry, Sebastien Buchholz, Christine Flowers, MJ Williams, Longineu Parsons.
From 2006 on, he has been performing in trio with Peter Giron and John Betsch (HILL, 2008, Enja).
Since 2012, Steve Potts has been a regular member added to the trio (album SONG to come out in october 2016, Enja).
Jobic has also preformed with JJ Elangué, François Thébèrge, Rick Margitza, Jon Handelsman, JC Montredon, CA Barry, Harry Swift, Daryl Hall, Ichiro Onoe, Felipe Cabrera, Simon Goubert, Ursuline Kairson, Makoto Sato, Jo Ann Pickens, Mark Sims, Antoine Paganotti, Lucien Johnson, Daniel Erdman, Thomas Kpade, Jeff Bouderau, Michael Felberbaum, Karl Januska, Jean-François Pauvros, Sylvain Guérineau, Benoit Raffin, Gilbert Roggi, Abdelhaï Bennani, JL Guillonet, Rasul Siddik, Amy Gamlen, Alexandra Grimal, Marcus Huholt, Jean-Jacques Avenel.... with musicians passing thru Paris such as Sarah Morrow, Corey Wilkes, Roy Campbell, Hanah Jon Taylor, Jeri Brown…. poets Barry Wallenstein, Steve Dalachinsky....

Jobic Le Masson, né en France en 1968, débute son éducation musicale à l’âge de 7 ans au conservatoire. Dès ses 16 ans, il s’expatrie aux Etats-Unis pour étudier la théorie musicale et la composition à la Greenwich High School dans le Connecticut. En 1987, il rentre à la Berklee School of Music à Boston et après avoir obtenu un diplôme d’Ingénieur du Son et de Bachelor of Music, il retourne en France où il vit depuis 1990.
Outre son activité de professeur de piano, Jobic dédie son temps à la composition, l’arrangement et les concerts.
On le retrouve dans plusieurs projets et enregistrements avec les musiciens Arnaud Sacase, Gwen Sampé, Benjamin Duboc, Didier Lasserre, Aldridge Hansberry, Sebastien Buchholz, Christine Flowers, MJ Williams, Longineu Parsons.
A partir de 2006, une grande partie de son activité musicale tourne autour de la formation du trio avec Peter Giron et John Betsch (HILL, 2008, Enja).
Depuis 2012, à ce même groupe se rajoute Steve Potts (sortie de SONG en octobre 2016, Enja).
